And from Mattanah to Nahaliel. The latter name, which means "the brook of God," seems to be still retained by the Encheileh, one of the northern affluents of the Wady Mojeb. From Nahaliel to Bamoth. Bamoth simply means "heights" or "high places," and was therefore a frequent name.

This Bamoth maybe the same as the Bamoth-Baal of ; , but it is uncertain. A Beth-Bamoth is mentioned on the Moabite stone.
