He is ever merciful, and lendeth (comp. Psalms 37:21). This psalm contains a good deal of repetition, perhaps intended to emphasize certain portions of its teaching (see Psalms 37:1, Psalms 37:7, Psalms 37:8; Psalms 3:1-8, Psalms 27:1-14; Psalms 11:1-7, Psalms 22:1-31, Psalms 29:1-11; Psalms 7:1-17, Psalms 34:1-22, etc.

). And his seed is blessed (comp. Psalms 25:13; Psalms 102:28; Psalms 112:2).
