Shall come, either actually by his appearance, or virtually by calling the guilty soul to judgment. When he looketh not for him ( οὐ προσδοκᾷ, expecteth not). He has put away all thought of the sudden advent of the Lord.
That he is not aware of ( οὐ γινω ìσκει, be knoweth not). The awful hour was utterly unknown; but this has not made him watchful; hence be becomes unfaithful.
