And the man came into the house: and he (i.e. Laban) ungirded his (literally, the) camels, and gave straw—cut up by threshing for fodder (cf. ; ; )—and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet (cf.

; ), and the men's feet that were with him—the first intimation that any one accompanied the messenger, though that assistants were necessary is obvious from the narrative.
