"Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain..." (Hebrews 10:19-20) Imagine the Temple in Jerusalem.
Deep inside was the Holy of Holies. It was where God lived. It was blocked by a massive, thick curtain called The Veil . No one could go in except the High Priest, once a year. If anyone else went in, they died.
The message was clear: KEEP OUT. God is holy; you are not. But the moment Jesus died on the Cross, the Bible says the Veil was torn "from top to bottom." (From top to bottom means God tore it, not man).
The "Keep Out" sign was removed. God invited the whole world into His bedroom. Now, because of the Exchange, you can walk right into God's presence on a Tuesday morning while drinking coffee, and you won't die.
You will be welcomed. Do not stitch the veil back up. We stitch it up when we feel unworthy. We say, "I can't pray today, I yelled at my kids." That is putting the curtain back. Jesus tore it. Leave it torn.
Your access is based on His blood, not your mood.
Digging Deeper
Theologically, this is Access . In the Old Covenant, God was geographically located (in the Temple). In the New Covenant, God is relationally located (in the Believer). The "New and Living Way" is the flesh of Jesus.
We don't need a priest to talk to God for us. We are a "Kingdom of Priests" (1 Peter 2:9). You have a backstage pass to the Throne Room of the Universe. Use it. Reflect on this: Do you pray like you are shouting over a wall?
Or do you pray like you are sitting in the same room? The Veil is gone. Walk in boldly. "Let us approach God's throne of grace with confidence" (Hebrews 4:16). 👣 Take a Step Action: The Bold Entrance.
Take 2 minutes right now. Close your eyes. Visualize walking past the torn curtain, right up to the Throne. Sit down at God's feet. Say: "Thank you that I am allowed to be here."
