Yet listen now, Jacob my servant,
This is what the LORD who made you,
For I will pour water on him who is thirsty,
and they will spring up among the grass,
One will say, ‘I am the LORD’s.’
This is what the LORD, the King of Israel,
Who is like me?
Don’t fear,
Everyone who makes a carved image is vain.
Who has fashioned a god,
Behold, all his fellows will be disappointed;
The blacksmith takes an ax,
The carpenter stretches out a line.
He cuts down cedars for himself,
Then it will be for a man to burn;
He burns part of it in the fire.
The rest of it he makes into a god,
They don’t know, neither do they consider,
No one thinks,
He feeds on ashes.
Remember these things, Jacob and Israel,
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions,
Sing, you heavens, for the LORD has done it!
The LORD, your Redeemer,
who frustrates the signs of the liars,
who confirms the word of his servant,
who says to the deep, ‘Be dry,’
who says of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure,’
